Music videos are serious business.

Word up.

Wow, it's been almost three months since I've updated this thing. I'll recap what I've been up to, for those of you who've been beating furiously on your reload keys, screaming "I MUST KNOW THE LATEST", possibly dripping with tears of frustration.

First off, I bought a new computer. A dual 1.8ghz G5, which I plan to upgrade to 2 gigs of RAM in the near future. Unfortunately, the Audiophile sound card I purchased for it is giving me trouble, and I've not yet heard back from M-Audio tech support about why it is doing what it is doing. (What it is doing is being a hunk of sputtering garbage, and pissing me off)

Regarding Epsilon Minus specifically, the most interesting news is that I am producing a music video. It is for one of the new songs, previously heard in the mp3 teaser for the new EM stuff. I shot the live action footage a few weeks ago, and am currently editing. There will likely be some still photography and animation incorporated as I continue to make progress, but so far nothing has actually come together except the live action footage. Without spoiling it too much, a) it features the location seen in the 2004 press photos, and b) it is completely ridiculous.

Anecdote: Filming the footage with a borrowed DV camera, borrowed lighting, a free location, I had managed to pull off a pretty nice looking shoot with no budget or expenses whatsoever. However, this ideal situation became compromised when I tipped over a floodlight, smashing it, and burning a hole in the floor. So much for 'no expenses'. So you people had better enjoy my accidentally expensive music video...

Very little has been done in the way of new Epsilon Minus songs since the previous update. Tyler from Battery Cage/Informatik has been confirmed to sing on one of the new tracks, and the seeds of a down-tempo collaborative track with Null Device have been planted. Getting my techno project (still without a name) up and running has been a higher priority than completing a new Epsilon Minus record.

So basically, you can look forward to seeing a video for a new EM song, and hopefully get the song via a compilation if it can be arranged, in the not-terribly-near future. I would not expect a new Epsilon Minus record until mid/late 2005. Too many projects and committments on the go to pull off another album in under a year.

That's it. Next time I post, you'll be watching my butt shake. Peace out.
