EPSILONMINUS.COM NEWS LOG ---------- 12/23/2004 Rudolph, Electro Reindeer (MP3, 1.7mb) Merry Christmas, folks. ---------- 10/20/2004 Epsilon Minus - 'Erase' - video preview Music videos are serious business. ---------- 10/15/2004 Word up. Wow, it's been almost three months since I've updated this thing. I'll recap what I've been up to, for those of you who've been beating furiously on your reload keys, screaming "I MUST KNOW THE LATEST", possibly dripping with tears of frustration. First off, I bought a new computer. A dual 1.8ghz G5, which I plan to upgrade to 2 gigs of RAM in the near future. Unfortunately, the Audiophile sound card I purchased for it is giving me trouble, and I've not yet heard back from M-Audio tech support about why it is doing what it is doing. (What it is doing is being a hunk of sputtering garbage, and pissing me off) Regarding Epsilon Minus specifically, the most interesting news is that I am producing a music video. It is for one of the new songs, previously heard in the mp3 teaser for the new EM stuff. I shot the live action footage a few weeks ago, and am currently editing. There will likely be some still photography and animation incorporated as I continue to make progress, but so far nothing has actually come together except the live action footage. Without spoiling it too much, a) it features the location seen in the 2004 press photos, and b) it is completely ridiculous. Anecdote: Filming the footage with a borrowed DV camera, borrowed lighting, a free location, I had managed to pull off a pretty nice looking shoot with no budget or expenses whatsoever. However, this ideal situation became compromised when I tipped over a floodlight, smashing it, and burning a hole in the floor. So much for 'no expenses'. So you people had better enjoy my accidentally expensive music video... Very little has been done in the way of new Epsilon Minus songs since the previous update. Tyler from Battery Cage/Informatik has been confirmed to sing on one of the new tracks, and the seeds of a down-tempo collaborative track with Null Device have been planted. Getting my techno project (still without a name) up and running has been a higher priority than completing a new Epsilon Minus record. So basically, you can look forward to seeing a video for a new EM song, and hopefully get the song via a compilation if it can be arranged, in the not-terribly-near future. I would not expect a new Epsilon Minus record until mid/late 2005. Too many projects and committments on the go to pull off another album in under a year. That's it. Next time I post, you'll be watching my butt shake. Peace out. ---------- 07/27/2004 OH MY GOD I changed the internet Hi folks. I have not updated this site in a while, because I have not been on vacation and lounging about in my underpants. Now, however, I am. I am working on new tracks for a few things right now, foremost being a new not-yet-named techno project. Here is a small mp3 teaser. I am also working on new tracks for Epsilon Minus, though it is pretty low-priority right now, while I'm concentrating on the new project. Here is an mp3 teaser for the new EM stuff. This Saturday (July 31), I'm heading to Wisconsin for Irreverence (more info available from dead beat productions), to drop a DJ set. I'll be playing the same Reinitialized-era stuff as I played at DEMF, and probably dropping a new track or two from the techno project. Unfortunately I'm not going to have time to complete the new EM instrumental (last clip on the above EM teaser mp3) for the set, but I'll probably try anyways. Finally, check out the Photos section to see oh-so-exciting photos of a bald white guy in a dope red shirt standing around and looking really exciting and dynamic and boring as god damned hell. Ok, that's about all the updating I can handle, see you next year. ---------- 05/14/2004 Epsilon Minus - DJ set at Luna in Royal Oak, Michigan & Reverence 2 in Madison, Wisconsin Holy shit, people. Saturday May 29th, 2 days before my EM set at Movement, I will be doing a DJ set (not an "EM DJ set", meaning I'll be playing mostly other people's music) at Luna in Royal Oak, Michigan with the mighty Chris "Rohndiggity" Rohn. Saturday July 31, the shit REALLY hits the fan. I will be doing an EM DJ set at the Reverence 2 concert-of-doom at Club Inferno in Madison, Wisconsin with Stromkern, Null Device, Stochastic Theory, The Gothsicles, Boole and DJ Whiterabbit. Holy shit. Holy shit. In addition to a continuous mix of new/remixed/unreleased EM tracks, kareoke throwdowns are planned for EM tracks 'The Road To Hell' and 'Burden', as their guest vocalists Eric Oehler and Ned Kirby will both be rocking the house. If you're in the area, you MUST attend this show. Bring your safety goggles, because shit's going to explode. ---------- 05/11/2004 Epsilon Minus - DJ Set at Movement Electronic Music Festival in Detroit, Michigan Bogart Shwadchuck (that's me!) will be in Detroit on Monday May 31th, spinning a continuous mix of new EM tracks, remixes, and alternate versions. The set is scheduled for 4:00 pm at the Movement Detroit Electronic Music Festival. Maps to the tent are available here and here. Follow the people in Dracula clothes and you'll probably find it. This will be the first Epsilon Minus show in the USA. For more info, see the promoter's website: http://www.eclecticdetroit.com/ and the Movement website: http://www.movementfestival.com/ ---------- 05/03/2004 Epsilon Minus - Reinitialized and Epsilon Minus Reinitialized Ltd. The "surprise in the proverbial pipeline" mentioned on 01/05/2003 is what I'm now preparing, and Reinitialized won't be given a solid release date until this surprise is finished and submitted. Square Matrix 004 is also still on hold. I want all of these releases the hell out of my studio and onto the streets, so I will do everything I can to get them released quickly. (Also, 2 new tracks are already in the works, and I'm contemplating working one of them into the "surprise". We'll see what happens.) ---------- 01/16/2004 Square Matrix 004 has been delayed indefinitely, new release date will be posted when announced. ---------- 01/05/2004 New site is online, but incomplete. Will be completed when I get around to working on the damned thing. New album "Reinitialized" due out on Alfa Matrix March/April 2004. First single, 1/4 of "Square Matrix 004" coming soon on Alfa Matrix, release date tba. More surprises in the proverbial pipeline. ---------- - maintained by bogart shwadchuck - bogart@epsilonminus.com
